The Life Fitness division of Brunswick Corporation, which encompasses the Life Fitness and Hammer Strength brands of fitness equipment, increased its sales by 11 percent to $180 million for the fourth quarter of last year. The expansion was driven by the U.S. market, where the unit’s sales climbed by 14 percent, against a rise of 7 percent in international markets. The Life Fitness division’s operating income was up by 16 percent to $28.3 million for the quarter. It ended the year with a sales jump of 17 percent to $635.2 million, while operating income surged by 57 percent to $93.4 million.
